Apex Legends Mobile reportedly coming Q3 2021; Nintendo Switch version next month

Apex Legends, one of the most popular PC games that was released last year, will be coming to both Android and iOS this year, with a Nintendo Switch version next month.

While the official release date has not been revealed, the game is expected to be rolled out this Q3 2021.

The news was confirmed in a recent earnings call with Electronic Arts (EA), the official developer of the game.

Apex Legends Mobile’s development is currently being led by China’s Tencent, the company behind PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, and many other notable titles.

EA also added that the company plans to soft-launch the mobile version of Apex Legends within the next 3 – 4 months, and players will require the following hardware to run the game smoothly:

  • iOS users will need an iPhone/iPad with at least an A11 Bionic (and above)
  • Android users will need a device with at least a Snapdragon 625 (and above)

Apex Legends coming to mobile could have a significant impact in the esports space, especially since PUBG Mobile was banned in India — significantly decreasing its player-base.

Assuming Apex Legends does not end up with a similar fate as PUBG Mobile, it could potentially become one of the largest titles for esports on mobile.
