Who else hates it when your hero got raged?!
MEGPlay13 May, 2019
While playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is a fun experience, it can get frustrating at times, especially when you’re playing a ranked match. The competitiveness within you will push you to want to perform better in every game. And when you’re encountering unpleasant experiences like internet lagging and poor match-making (read not-so-pro teammates), you can easily fly into a fit of rage (against your will).
Although you might try to keep your emotions in check, it is still very likely to happen once in a while. But hey, we’ve got your back. Here, we suggest ways for you to avoid raging when playing MLBB.
1. Find a good party when playing ranked - avoid solo ranking
MLBB is a team-based game, therefore, teamwork is super important! Ideally, if you solo queue, your other teammates are cooperative and you guys execute amazing strategies and plays. However, that usually doesn’t happen. For instance, teammates only pick the heroes that they want (not what the team needs). That makes your team composition catastrophic whereas your opponents pick heroes as though they were playing in MPL.
Therefore, we recommend that you find a good party to rank up together to avoid any potential unhappiness as a result of teaming up with random players. If you’re playing with friends, (hopefully) that means you know each other’s playstyles, resulting in better team chemistry and therefore, good teamfight execution.
Remember, communication is key if you want to win a MLBB ranked match. Good teammates help! Also, you can use the in-game voice chat functions to facilitate better team cooperation.
2. Study the meta - watch MPL-MY/SG pros play
Do you find yourself always losing to opponents although your performance is already good? Perhaps you wonder why your opponents seem to have the upper hand over you most of the time. Well, maybe you’re out of the meta. Mobile Legends is constantly being updated with new patches to ensure the game is fresh and to keep us coming back for new content. Since every patch has its own meta, you need to learn to adapt to the latest meta to stay competitive. Otherwise, you’ll most probably be raging and swearing against the overpowered heroes that your opponents play (unfortunately, OP heroes are usually the meta heroes).
With that said, you can always keep yourself in-the-know by following the MLBB professional scene to get the latest tips and tricks from the pros. It is a good and entertaining way to gain new perspectives on how to play certain heroes.
3. Take a break - when you’re on a losing streak.
Losing a couple of matches isn’t a big deal but a losing streak can be pretty tilting. Perhaps you should just stop playing the game for a few days and do some other meaningful things (like reading about how gaming can become a career or laughing at our memes).
It’s totally understandable that we rage when defeated, especially when you pour your heart and soul into a game just to see your rank drop (maybe due to your mistakes, your teammates’ mistakes or your opponents are just better). At this point, we definitely recommend that you sit back, relax and take a break from the game.
