Cyberpunk 2077 hacked

Cyberpunk 2077’s creator got hacked; major Patch 1.2 update delayed

Cyberpunk 2077’s developer, CD Projekt Red (CDPR), was supposed to launch a big update (Patch 1.2) for the game, but it looks like it will not be coming out just yet.

The game studio fell victim to a recent cyber attack earlier this month, where personal details of employees and other sensitive information were allegedly obtained and sold on the internet by hackers.

The cyber attack made it nearly impossible for some of the company’s employees to perform their jobs, as CDPR had to shut down some of their servers/employee accounts for security measures.

Cyberpunk 2077’s premature launch resulted in the game being released in an extremely buggy state, which led to Sony removing the game from the PlayStation Store.

Since then, CD Projekt Red has released numerous updates and hot-fixes in an attempt to address the myriad of issues plaguing the game, and Patch 1.2 was supposed to be its biggest update yet.

However as of now, it looks like Patch 1.2 update will only be released in the second half of March 2021, according to the announcement on Cyberpunk’s official Twitter account.
