Watch: Pokémon Unite beta is now live in Canada; check out the gameplay video

Last month, the Pokemon Company announced the beta launch of Pokemon Unite, a brand new 5v5 MOBA game for mobile.

The announcement sent fans into a frenzy, with the news going viral all over social media.

As of last week, the highly anticipated beta launch has kicked off in Canada, giving players their first taste of the game.

Pokemon Unite marks the company’s first foray into the 5v5 MOBA space, competing against giants like League of Legends, Mobile Legends, and Arena of Valor.

The game spots a similar gameplay to its competitors, where players choose a hero (in this case a Pokemon), and team up with 4 others to battle opponents and ultimately take over their turf.

The biggest difference of Pokemon Unite compared to other MOBA is the “levelling” of characters, where heroes don’t just “level up”, but also evolve into characters of vastly different abilities (ie: Squirtle to Wartortle, and eventually Baltoise).

Since the beta launch kicked off, many players have shared positive first impressions of the game, many even uploading gameplay footage on YouTube.
